Looking for a Head of communications based in Newport. You will be part of a new exciting transformation piece.

Well establish Manufacturing organisation with sites based in Newport and towards London.


Head of Communications Main duties:

Internal communications (planning and implementation)

Creation of company-wide communications to inform and engage employees with Companies's strategic objectives and key messages. Collaboration with colleagues to ensure that divisional specific communication is aligned to company-wide messaging. Responsibility and ownership of the Companies intranet, liaising with people across the business to source news stories to increase employee engagement.

Content & Campaign Creation

Responsibility for the creation of content driven campaigns, delivering consistently excellent communications across the business. Strong editing, copy writing and proof reading is critical. Attending divisional meetings, drafting communications plans that align with their business objectives and delivering the agreed tactics on time. You will also be responsible for the delivery of new product sales support content, corporate materials & documents and case studies.

PR/Social Media/Advertising

Implement and manage the delivery of the PR, Social Media and Advertising and Communications plan. Advise and support business teams on building the right communications plans and execution to support business goals.


Management of all Companies events and exhibitions. Managing the creation of the events calendar, investigating and proposing opportunities that may be beneficial for Companies. Overseeing the management of events and exhibitions to ensure smooth and successful delivery.

Project Management

Management of cross-functional teams to deliver projects successfully. Use of project management techniques to ensure effective communication, on time delivery and evaluation of results against objectives.

Line Management

Manage the workload and objectives of the Marketing Communications team to ensure that Group Marketing priorities are met and focus on key deliverables is maintained.

Agency Management

Assume day-to-day management of appointed marketing/PR agencies working with them to regularly report on success/failure of initiatives. Set annual objectives, targets and plans. Ensure value for money.


The successful Head of communications will have:

A minimum of 5 years demonstrable success in marketing communications and strategy with the desire to build a career in an innovative and high performing business, overseeing a brand held in high esteem by the furniture industry. Experience in business to business desirable, but not essential.

Excellent writing skills mean you will easily be able to transform complex copy and jargon into clear, straightforward communications, which are appropriately targeted to your audience. Being confident dealing with people at all levels, with good listening abilities, you will be able to build a stable network with relevant internal stakeholders.
