A rare and fulfilling opportunity has arisen for a talented and ambitious communications specialist to take on the role of Head of Marketing and Communications at one of Wales' leading agencies. Working closely with Company's Managing Director, the successful Head of Marketing and Communications will join at an exciting time, playing a key role in the agency's ambitious growth plan.


Description

Head of communications main responsibilities are:





* Client services - oversee Company's impressive portfolio of clients including FMCG/retail, Welsh Government tourism and awareness campaigns, B2B and trade.



Specific duties include:



* Overseeing monthly delivery, results and reporting, ensuring account teams deliver outstanding levels of service

* Providing strategic counsel to clients and account teams

* Adding value to account teams by suggesting new channels, tactics

* Taking overall responsibility for all clients' strategic plans and budgets.





* New business - lead on new business opportunities.



Specific duties include:



* Researching and evaluating new business opportunities

* Developing and drafting new business proposals, leading team brainstorm sessions and co-ordinating project team

* Prepare and deliver new business pitches

* Seek and evaluate feedback on unsuccessful bids to inform future proposals

* Work with MD to identify proactive new business opportunities.





* Company development - support the MD with Company's business development plan.



Specific duties include:



* Identifying efficiencies and ways to strengthen services and client offer

* Upskilling team

* Represent Company and act as a positive ambassador at industry and networking events.


Profile

Head of communications essential requirements:

* Agency experience - minimum of six years' agency-specific experience (currently/most recently in a senior position)



* Wide sectorial experience - experience of working with both private and public sector clients, across a wide-range of sectors including B2B, trade, consumer



* Experience of delivering fully-integrated campaigns - direct experience rather than co-ordinating multiple agencies



* Strong strategic planning skills - ability to interpret a brief, understand audiences and objectives and plan an effective communications strategy for clients and new business



* People management skills - experience of motivating, leading and managing communications teams



* New business development skills - proven experience in proposal writing, pitching and leading successful bids



* Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills - ability to work under pressure, problem solve and multi-task across a wide-range of projects and accounts.





Desirable, but not essential:



* Fluent Welsh language speaker





* Strong understanding of Welsh Government policies and procedures





* Experience in the food and drink sector





* Experience in media planning and buying software.
