Fundraising officer for a not-for-profit charity based in Swansea or Cardiff

Description

The key responsibilities for the Fundraising Officer include:



* Act as the first point of contact for fundraising enquiries from businesses and organisations



* Manage current corporate relationships as directed by the Head of Fundraising, maximising income generation and, where appropriate, employee engagement.





* Identify, research, cultivate and approach corporate prospects to secure financial contributions and/ or employee engagement. Includes applications for Charity of the Year, developing bespoke solicitation proposals and delivering presentations.





* Represent the charity at relevant business networking events to increase the charity's profile among the business community in Wales.





* Monitor CSR/ Corporate Responsibility issues in the media and keep up to date with corporate giving in Wales.





* Work closely with the Fundraising Officer - Events & Community to research opportunities for event sponsorship and manage corporate participation in the events programme.



* Work closely with the Head of Fundraising to identify and develop opportunities to approach funders for budgeted activity, ensuring projects submitted include as many core organisational costs as acceptable to the funder to achieve full cost recovery.


Profile

The successful Fundraising Officer:

*

Proven experience of working within a similar fundraising role or sales environment and applied practical knowledge
*

Experience of meeting targets and effectively managing income and expenditure budgets in designated areas
*

Experience of monitoring and reporting the impact of a donation/ grant to a supporter/ funder
*

Able to communicate clearly, concisely, accurately and persuasively both orally and in writing in good, clear English and to a high standard at all times.
*

Excellent relationship building skills and experience in networking and delivering presentations. Ability to negotiate with/ influence others
*

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, and effectively manage time and workload to meet deadlines/ targets with minimum supervision
*

Knowledge of the housing and voluntary sector in Wales


Job Offer

Basic Salary up to £24,000
