Marketing and Communications Specialist Job in Preston | Permanent FT Position | £25,000 - £28,000

Your new company
This full time, permanent job opportunity will lie within a national, public sector organisation and registered charity, based in Preston. Due to restructure and re-branding, this organisation is looking to recruit for a new Marketing and Communications Specialist, to work autonomously with ambition of leading a new Communications strategy and the undertaking of all Communications and Marketing initiatives.

Your new role
Whilst reporting to the Head of Strategy and Innovation, and keeping in good contact with the Chief Executive and Senior Management team, you will deliver an integrated communications strategy for the organisation both internally and externally. By doing this, you will be responsible for increasing the reach and impact of the organisations profile and visibility, through the delivery of influential Marketing, Communications and Media Relations. Your day to day responsibilities will involve the creation of email campaigns, PR and Media Relations, producing content for both print and digital, and the management of agency relationships. You must boast good levels of website management and re branding techniques, updating and uploading the company website on a frequent basis.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in your new position, you will have broad experience across the full marketing mix, including exposure to content creation for print and digital, with PR, exhibition, and events management. You must be confident and creative in your abilities, with high levels of autonomy, and be capable of working proactively and confidently to perform to a high standard. There will be some, though little, travel required of you, therefore a full, clean, driver's license is necessary. Strong project management skills will be required, coupled with the ability to manage time effectively and work to meet deadlines. Experience within a charity, not-for-profit, or more broad public sector organisation will place you in good stead, though a commercial edge will also prove beneficial.

What you'll get in return
In return for your expertise, you will receive the opportunity to work within a national public sector organisation. You will also find this to be an exciting time to join, with the organisation evolving and a restructure in place, you will be given the opportunity, to an extent, to shape the direction of this role and make it your own. You will be given the opportunity to work autonomously and have a good level of final decision making in the work that you do, however always in keeping with organisation guidelines and communication with your seniors. You will experience working across specialisms, contributing and receiving input where relevant, and finally reaping the benefits of working within both a welcoming and positive organisation, where your successes and hard work is recognised and rewarded.
