Communications Executive

The City & Guilds Group changes lives through skills, from providing bursaries and supporting skills initiatives across the globe through to developing products and services that improve skills from entry level up to CEOs. We’ve got an exciting 12 month maternity cover opportunity for a communications executive to come and join our team to help us tell our story.  

About The Role

We have a 12 month FTC opportunity available whilst our current Communications Executive is on maternity leave. This role would sit in the Group communications team.

As Communications Executive you work across all of the Group’s purpose programmes including The Princess Royal Training Awards, The Skills Development Fund, the Group’s bursary programme and lots more. You will be working on drafting communication plans, writing press releases and engaging key stakeholders – both internal and external. You will be part of a small but busy communications team that works across all of the Group’s brands.

You will also work on the Group’s social media channels including LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook – helping to communicate the Group story to a wide range of online audiences. 

About You

We want to hear from enthusiastic, passionate and confident individuals that have experience of working well both within a team and individually.
We are looking for an excellent communicator who is willing to work hard and be flexible if the demands of the team change and your expertise is needed to quickly switch over and work on a different project.  We also need someone who is natural in building rapport with key stakeholders and is good at both written and face-to-face communications. You will need to be able to use your own initiative to make decisions, whilst prioritising workloads. 
We want someone who has proven experience in PR, internal or external communications or journalism and we are ideally looking for someone with experience of using social media to reach audiences in an effective way.
