This well-known brand is looking for a senior marketing professional who will lead the marketing strategy and implementation for the different products commercialised by the firm in the sports category, devising the different go-to market channels strategies, raising the profile of the brand and increasing the engagement of the different target audiences with the products and brand.

Based in Kent, the Head of Sports Marketing will be responsible for:

* Devising the go-to-market marketing strategy considering the different channels the firm plans to cover (general and specialized retailers, major distributors, sports clubs, schools, on-site high-traffic activations among others)

* Definition of product characteristics, approval of concepts, graphics and texts, definition of release date, profit and loss account (sales forecasts, price, forecast returns, marketing budgets)

* Definition of marketing plan and communication strategy relating to collections, implementation of the various levers included in the plan (sampling activities, press campaign, TV campaign, radio campaign, campaign at the point of sale, web and social campaign, guerrilla campaign, mailing, events newsletter (tours, game centres) in store promotion, co-marketing / partnership activities (in-pack, on-pack, cross promotions, in-store promotion, editorial proofing).

* Approval of communication elements: press, web, TV, radio, point of sale, newsletter, social, etc.

* Analysis of final results, redemption, sampling and couponing, comparison with historical data, market trend analysis, competition analysis, consumer profile, license evaluation.

* Market research - proposals, instructing agency and analysing results.

* Participation in the definition of the editorial plan and its revision / integration during the year (securities, products, volumes, price, timing

* Participation in the definition of the operating objective (budget) within the Market Office and in collaboration with the Sales Office.

* Product development and exploration of new marketing or partnership activities (meeting with licensees, partners, suppliers, customers, interdivisional meetings)

* Liaison with Clubs re marketing activities.

* Provide efficient and effective support for sales division, as well as new opportunities e.g. trade marketing activities, new direct retail projects, pop-up opportunities, POS projects

* Identifying relevant target audiences and tactics to drive footfall and conversion in store

* Testing and delivering promotional mechanics, GWPs and offers that drive conversion and footfall

Planning & implementing trade marketing for each channel in order to hit revenue targets


Based in Kent, the Head of Sports Marketing ideally should have:

* Passion for sports.

* Experience in the whole suite of the marketing mix but predominantly in Product Marketing in categories such as sports, toys, products for kids, and collectables among others.

* Multichannel marketing strategy devising and implementation (particularly added value if the candidate has devised and implemented strategies within schools).

* Experience managing all sport related media (TV, radio, online) through media agencies.

* Nice to have: experience managing products where licensing relationships are managed.

* Highly organised and can work with tight deadlines.

* Campaign Planning.

* Product Lifecycle Management.

* X-functional sales and marketing working.

Availability to travel within the UK and some continental Europe trips.
