A leading independent parliamentary body are looking for an interim Head of Brand, Campaigns and Corporate Communications for an 11-12 month period next calendar year.


Client Details

The Electoral Commission report directly into Parliament and have 3 generalist functions as an apolitical body. With offices in Cardiff, Belfast, Edinburgh and London, they work with local authorities, regulate elections and manage political finance donations.



With a potential snap referendum, local elections and another snap general election looming, this is a brilliant opportunity for a Senior Marketing specialist.



They are looking for an ambitious, supportive and experienced interim to start in January 2019.


Description

- To manage and drive forward the Campaigns and Corporate Communications team, made up of Campaigns, Public Awareness, Corporate Communications, Digital and Internal Communications.



- To manage 3 /4 direct reports



- To sit on the directorate board and work alongside the Director to provide strategic and operational communications.



-To oversee and ensure the delivery of high profile, multi-million pound campaigns for elections and referendums



-To manage the development and co-ordination of operational plans, budgets and resource/staffing requirements across the team's functions.



-To represent the Commission externally, developing and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders, acting as a spokesperson for the organisation.



-To provide strategic leadership on the operation of the Commission's campaign social media channels.



-To oversee a range of corporate communications projects such as website developments and internal staff events, and elements of internal communications activity in collaboration with HR colleagues.



-To work closely with colleagues in the devolved offices to ensure a co-ordinated approach to managing campaign activity across the UK.



-To deputise for the Director of Communications and Research as required.

Profile

-Extensive experience of campaigns management, ideally including some experience in the public sector.



-Experience of managing external agencies and suppliers, including advertising, partnership marketing, media, design, print and online agencies.



-Substantial experience at an appropriate level of managing projects and multi-million pound marketing budgets.



-Experience and strong understanding of the latest approaches to campaign evaluation.



-Significant experience of managing teams.



-Experience of taking other professional disciplines into consideration when developing communication strategies, e.g. policy and legal.



-Experience of media interviews.



- Good project management experience
