An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to join an international law firm on a 12 - 14 month fixed term contract basis, as part of the International Relations Team.

The Senior BD Manager, will work closely with the partners and other team members, to drive and implement international business development initiatives for the firm in relation to the Nordics and Russia, as well as taking the lead on a number of projects including a compliance related project. The role is critical to the firm's international activities and will involve working alongside two other Senior BD managers, one BD manager and three executives in the team. The role holder will enjoy a broad role. You will be expected to develop a strong understanding of the business strategy and objectives and will work directly with the relevant Country Partners to ensure that business plans are focused and considered. You will subsequently execute the agreed plans, ensuring that relevant initiatives are localised for particular jurisdictions. The successful applicant will be expected to take a thoughtful and dynamic approach to attracting new clients, work with the fee earners to identify, shape and deliver engaging, insightful, targeted and thought-provoking content and BD initiatives and must promote internal cross-selling of the firm's capabilities in the relevant countries. You will also support the fee-earners in preparation of the group's pitches, working closely with BD members in the practice groups and pitch team, and develop client plans for specific targets, conducting research, market and client analysis as required. In addition, you will work with Country Partners to formulate strategy on relationships with local counsel in the jurisdictions, actively monitoring relationships with local counsel, including providing support to fee earners in counsel selection and accompanying Country Partners at meetings with local counsel.

With extensive international business to business marketing and business development experience, preferably gained in a law firm or in professional services, and with awareness of cultural sensitivities, the ideal candidate will be a pro-active, analytical and numerate team players, with a high attention to detail and strong communication, influencing and people skills. It is essential that you thrive working under pressure and are able to demonstrate a previous track record of prioritising and delivering complex and multiple projects to tight deadlines and possess a strong ability to analyse and interpret data.
