Technical Marketing Manager, Oxford -

We are working on a retained assignment for a unique organisation on the outskirts of Oxford, and have a very special requirement for a technically-minded, commercially-motivated Marketing Manager, with the potential to travel the world, manage a small team and inspire thought leadership across the board.

Leaders in High Performance Computing and mathematical data, this role requires a significant and technical understanding of how applied maths and science can be applied to the business landscape, so a degree - or PHD - in these fields will be highly desirable, enabling the right person to become a true Technical Evangelist for the organisation. The successful candidate will not only have a detailed understanding of mathematics and science, but will be a confident communicator, able to create technical collateral, identify new markets, build and maintain relationships with new industry partners through networking, events and communications, and to lead and inspire colleagues, gaining the trust of highly technical stakeholders, both within - and outside of - the organisation.

As well as requiring a profound knowledge of applied mathematics and scientific practices and simulations, this is also very special and exciting opportunity. As the successful Technical Marketing Manager, you will have the opportunity to travel globally, being deeply involved in ground-breaking industry events and exhibitions. Flexible working and working-from-home is offered to help with this, but you will need to be comfortable with regular, international travel.

You'll work with a small but highly-experienced team, enabling you to confidently explore new campaigns to generate leads and drive positive investment. You will target - and meet with - globally-recognised companies, and have a huge amount of creative freedom in this highly-collaborative position. You will work with thought leadership via technical articles, blogs and networking, with the opportunity to present at industry-specific events, gaining the buy-in from new clients.

Whilst this is a Marketing Manager position, the technical, mathematical and scientific understanding - and thorough commercial awareness - is vital, meaning that a through-and-through marketing background is not essential. If you are a highly-skilled Technical Evangelist, with experience in technical sales or account management with a scientific or technology-driven company, then this could still certainly be for you. You will be involved in marketing communications and online and offline campaigns, but you will have an effective and experienced team to support you with this, as your skills will be used in building the commercial success, travelling the world and driving leads to the business.

The benefits - in addition to working in a collaborative and flexible culture of absolute innovation - include a pension contribution of up to 18%, private health cover, a tailored rewards scheme and an active promotion of new ideas and individual thinking.

If you have the mathematical and scientific knowledge required, a strong commercial awareness and experience in marketing management - or sales/account management - then we would be very keen to hear from you and represent you, so please get in touch.

With the flexibility surrounding working hours and working from home, this role could suit those travelling from London, Cambridge, Milton Keynes, Reading, Slough, Maidenhead, Hemel Hempstead, Northampton, Coventry, Swindon, Bath, Birmingham, Bristol or Southampton.

For registration purposes please could you let us know where you are currently based or which locations you are considering as well as your required salary and notice period.

Please upload a Microsoft Word version of your CV where possible, excluding textboxes or images, as this can affect the consultant's job matching process and therefore your details may not be picked up for a role.
