Hands on sales/account management skills and a track record of building strong and productive business relationships are all key for this exciting role in a newly established team managing major European e-Commerce accounts for a global FMCG business.  As Key Account Manager and category strategist in a HQ Centre of Excellence team, you will lead the company’s relationship with key accounts – securing their support for its brands sold direct to consumers across Europe, and developing, negotiating and implementing effective Joint Business Plans to hit ambitious growth objectives.  Working in a premium segment of a large and highly-competitive FMCG category, you will enjoy a wide remit with day-to-day responsibility for building a growth strategy, negotiating deals, developing shopper marketing initiatives and setting prices and business terms.  

Specific responsibilities in this role include:

  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key eCommerce customer(s) including all relevant stakeholders in marketing, digital, supply chain and CRM roles.
  • Identifying win-win opportunities that drive strong business relationships and revenue growth.
  • Proactively creating e-tail marketing demand working with the customer to shape brand promotions, content, email campaigns and other activity on their websites.
  • Developing JBPs for key customer(s), ensuring plans are aligned with European markets.
  • Managing an eCommerce analyst to develop and execute e-shopper engagement programs for customer(s) websites.
  • Creating short and long term plans for customer growth, ensuring profitable contracts with customer specific prices, terms and conditions.
  • Understanding customer strategies, policies and procedures and future plans as well as their digital tools and assets and their organization.

Key Skills Checklist

  • Hands-on key account management experience with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and building successful, long-term customer relationships.  Some experience working with major eCommerce accounts would be a significant advantage.
  • Outstanding negotiating skills and the ability to spot customer priorities and how to meet them with a win-win approach to business.
  • Digitally savvy and curious with a solid understanding of the eCommerce market and key trends. 
  • Track record of using shopper and consumer insights to develop commercial recommendations that drive category growth.
  • Excellent communicator able to work alongside multiple markets and internal contacts across Europe.
  • Fluent English speaker. Additional languages are certainly a plus
