The Stakeholder Engagement Manager will be the person leading all the external relations and communications related with a specific Transformation Programme our client is currently implementing. Stakeholders vary across different type of entities and levels, but are all mainly involved in other utilities firms, government authorities, final consumer associations, media and press among others. It is expected that the person is capable of dealing with technical conversations.

Description

Based in London, the Stakeholder Engagement Manager will be responsible for:









* Engagement of participants in the detailed delivery activities of the programme where input and/or activity is required from participants. This will include engagement around such topics as system design; testing; data cleanse and cutover. This will likely take the form of technical bulletins, webex sessions and various stakeholder working groups.

* Providing direction to and oversight of the Communications Manager in the fulfilment of their role.

* Establishing the requirements for, designing and managing the implementation of the mechanisms by which the programme will interact and engage with external stakeholders in relation to programme design, testing, cutover, data cleansing and any other technical; delivery related activities. This will include establishment of working groups and forums and the programme's interaction with other groups and forums set up by other important parties.

* Coordinating the programme team's involvement with external stakeholders on technical matters relating to the delivery of the programme. This will involve agreeing and scheduling participation at meetings and working groups, reviewing materials that will be presented in order to ensure that the right people from the programme present the right information at the right time to the right stakeholder groups.

* Establishing a mechanism for logging, assigning and tracking stakeholder queries on technical matters relating to the programme. This could leverage the firm's existing helpdesk function or establish a separate mechanism if appropriate.

* Provide guidance and advice to senior stakeholders and the wider organisation regarding the most effective channels of communication (implementing new and innovative ways to communicate where appropriate) to ensure target audiences are reached in appropriate timescales, reviewing and measuring the effectiveness of the communications channels used.

* Developing and driving the stakeholder engagement strategy and plan, ensuring relationships are owned and managed and that true engagement happens beyond communications activities.

* Design and manage the process of gathering feedback on stakeholder engagement and communications at the programme level, monitor the effectiveness of communications and ensure learning is fed back into the work of the team and the business area as appropriate.


Profile

Based in London, the successful candidate must have/be:



● Extensive experience (5-7 years) as a Stakeholder Engagement and/or Communications Manager at a programme level working with stakeholders on transformational change in a high-profile, complex, national organisation or utilities sector.



● Experience of establishing the requirements for, designing, implementing and managing mechanisms for interaction with external stakeholders impacted by a B2B IT project.





● Experience of designing, establishing and supporting stakeholder forums and working groups.



● Ability to write clear, concise and correct English that is appropriate for different audiences and channels. Hand-in-hand with this is an ability to digest highly technical, complex information and make it accessible to the intended audience. These skills are essential.







● Experience of planning and delivering complex engagement programmes, as part of a multi disciplinary project team. This includes creating a plan, crafting key messages, using a wide range of channels to target different audience segments and measuring success.



● Experience of working for a technical, membership organisation or within the energy industry or any other utilities company would be an advantage but not essential.

● Skilful at prioritising and planning multiple activities and then delivering agreed outcomes on time.



● The ability to explain in a way that is persuasive and results in behaviour change.



● Able to build and maintain strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and to work flexibly as part of a team.


Job Offer

This role is strictly for those who meet with the profile (having PR experience is not sufficient to be considered).
