Media & Communications Manager

Your new company
My client is a well known charity which offers services throughout the UK for disadvantaged children. They require a media and communications manager to cover the London region.

Your new role
Our client is looking for a dedicated communications professional to join their busy media team to help make sure their voice is being heard. They're looking for a highly motivated individual who is creative, strategic and results driven. You'll have great news sense and will be as comfortable working with social media as you are developing compelling stories for hard-hitting newspaper articles and broadcast channels. You will work collaboratively within the media team to promote their work in the London region. This will include key policy campaigns, fundraising, retail and corporate activity, as well as helping to deliver the national media strategy.

The successful candidate must be able to deliver high quality proactive and reactive communications to promote and protect the profile and reputation of the charity. A key part of the role is to actively gather case studies to bring to life the work of the charity.

Strong relationships need to be formed with the charity's services to ensure a regular flow of new case studies.

The role requires proven ability to handle sensitive, confidential issues as well as excellent oral and written communications skills.

What you'll need to succeed
Essential:
Journalistic experience at regional/national level working in a fast paced media team (print or broadcast).
Internal/external communications managerial experience.
Solid Crisis/Reputation Management experience.
Strong media contacts within the London area.
Confident and persuasive.
Comfortable liaising with external agencies.

Desirable:
Experience of working in a child-focused organisation and/or voluntary sector.
Media or Communications qualification.
An innovative and creative self starter.

What you'll get in return
A salary of between £32,000 and £41,000 pa (dependant on experience) plus Outer London Weighting.
