The company:

M&S is going through an exciting transformation.  We have a new Clothing and Home (C&H) leadership team, with a bold customer-centric growth strategy and stretching online growth ambitions.  As part of this broader business transformation, marketing is undergoing substantial change.  We have recently restructured to create a faster, more agile and commercially accountable function, with a focus firmly on digital and direct to customer communication.  We are investing in new technology with the aim of being more responsive, relevant and relentlessly new – while significantly increasing sales through our online channels. 

The role:

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital part in the transformation of one of the world’s most famous brands.  To deliver against our goals, we have a number of Heads of Category Propositions & Marketing, aligning to the business areas.  These roles will work with Head of C&H Propositions & Marketing and other members of the marketing and business area leadership teams, as part of a fast-paced and vibrant department, to develop customer and category propositions, ensuring that we deliver against our brand and commercial targets.  

The candidate:

  • Strong experience working with a dynamic Marketing environment, with strong strategic marketing skills 
  • Exceptional team leadership and development skills
  • Able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen
  • Exceptional influencing and stakeholder management experience
  • Proven ability in brand and proposition development
  • Proven ability in category marketing
