Description

As the Bid Writer you will manage the new business team & will be responsible for preparing and submitting compelling proposals to win new business for the group.

Key responsibilities:

Client Liaison

* Be the first point of contact in respect of any new business enquiries/proposal requests and ensure all leads are recorded and data is kept up to date.
* Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the market and subject matter and thus, instilling client confidence in company abilities.
* Prepare new business proposals that sets out services and costs in straightforward language are prepared accurately and delivered to clients in timely manner.
* Manage follow up enquiries from Clients in respect of bid submissions and record status of the bid.

Proposal Preparation

* Collate all data and prepare proposal/tender pack in our standard format to be submitted to the Client.
* Review all data prepared by the team to ensure accuracy and consistency prior to presentation, and making recommendations for any amends and updates if required.
* Some proposals will need some bespoke drafting to meet the brief. You may need to develop collateral that helps evidence our experience and expertise, identifying winning themes that differentiate our offering from those of our competitors.
* Commercial considerations must be given to any amends to our standard terms of business and or Fees. These must be signed off by The Finance and Commercial Director.

Team Management

* To lead and manage your team ensuring they have the right level of skills and commitment to meet the goals of the business.
* In conjunction with the HR and Training Department, ensure there is a robust recruitment, induction and training programme to select and retain staff with the appropriate skills and experience.
* To set SMART objectives for individuals and the team. Provide regular feedback through schedule 1 -1's, informal feedback, performance reviews and address any underperformance as it arises.
* Inspire and motivate the team to deliver against stretching targets.
* Ensure team uphold the company Brand Values.

The successful candidate in London will have:

Skills Required

* Highly numerate and confident in the use of excel.
* Excellent and confident user of Word and PowerPoint.
* Excellent communication skills and can influence at all levels both internally and externally.
* Manage and coach the team to develop skills and confidence in their roles through skills knowledge sharing.
* Ability to analyse and understand data in different formats.
* Ability to multi task and work under pressure

Experience Required

* Proven ability to write concise written responses based on technical information.
* A keen attention to detail in the preparation of figures to support proposals.
* Understanding of bid process for managing Purpose Built Accommodation.
