Key Skills & Duties

Internal Communications Strategy

* Co-ordinate all internal communication activities across the group for colleagues who are office and site based.
* Develop the internal voice and narrative for the new group, ensuring it supports our values. Ensure all content supports and reinforces this
* Build on existing internal communications strategy to ensure all colleagues feel informed and engaged with the business plan. Continually test, develop and refine it to ensure it is fit for purpose
* Link the internal communications strategy with the external communications strategy, working with the Head of Marketing and Marketing business partners to support their commercial objectives
* Support effective change management through internal communications
* Help to build colleague advocacy

Internal Communications Delivery

* Write and create engaging and inspiring content
* Manage the news sections of the intranet
* Manage communications across other channels, including face-to-face, display boards and newsletters
* Relaunch our quarterly internal newsletter
* Own the schedule of internal communications
* Be aware of best practice in relation to communication methods, implementing and trialing new ideas where relevant and evaluating their success
* Measure and evaluate the impact of internal communications across the business

Social Responsibility

* Working with key stakeholders across the Group, drive the CSR agenda, with particular focus on our positive community impact
* Develop our strategy and create,manage and implement a calendar of activity to support it
* Launch a charity of the year initiative and develop and deliver a plan to ensure all colleagues are actively supporting it
* Maximise PR opportunities and work with the Marketing Business partners to activate

People & Budget Management

* Manage and motivate one direct report to deliver internal communication and CSR activity
* Manage internal communication and CSR budgets

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Competencies

* Communication degree or other relevant qualification
* Significant experience of working in an internal communications management role is essential
* Relevant experience in Construction or B2B organisation is desirable
* Ability to make connections, build relationships and influence at all levels
* A positive team player with a vibrant and engaging personality
* Hard working and adaptable, with a can-do attitude
* A creative and innovative approach to working, and the drive to continuously improve
* Constructively challenges current working methods and suggests ways to improve them.
* Leadership and delegation skills.
* Strong communication skills; written, verbal and listening.
* Strong time management skills, with the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines.
