Intranet Content Writer -6 months £170 per day PAYE Including holiday pay - Central London-to start ASAP

Our Engagement and Change team is seeking an Intranet/Web Content Writer to aid in our migration of Legacy Intranet Content to a modern SharePoint Intranet. The successful candidate would be required to work closely and share workload with existing team members and collaborate with the Digital Services team on project tasks managed using Agile project management practices. The successful candidate would be required to review, rewrite and assist in the move of a large amount of content that is currently residing in a mix of formats including hand coded web pages, word docs, pdfs and other formats into SharePoint pages. Improving the usability of the pages in the process.


Duties

* Liaising with content owners throughout the business to establish the currency of content and highlight where changes are required
* Working with content owners to ensure that their content is written clearly and presented using best practice for web publishing
* Gaining an understanding of the content to ensure that it is appropriately categorised and tagged to aid discovery
* Handover of the responsibility for future updates of content to the respective content owner
* Aiding in creating and maintaining documentation on standard content management procedures for the intranet
* Aiding in developing simple best practice guidance on writing for the intranet
* Helping to promote the project through all engagements with content owners
* Involvement in arranging and running User Experience Testing with support from other team members
* Assisting the Engagement and Change Team with day to day BAU content upkeep in response to requests from users

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:-

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience and understanding of the nature of writing for the web
* Comfortable liaising with and training stakeholders who will ultimately take on a content owner role
* Understanding of metadata and tagging
* Ability to work independently and self-manage
* Experience editing content in SharePoint 2013 / o365
* Understanding of Information Architecture
* Experience of User Experience Testing
* Ideally government sector experience
