Mission for Bid Manager

To own and effectively manage the company's Bid Management processes from start to finish. Co-ordinating responses to all tenders and successfully preparing proposals to internal and external stakeholders involved within the Bid Management process.

Bid Manager Aims and Objectives

* To work with the relevant Account Manager to complete the bid qualification and Bid / No Bid process for new opportunities

* Responsible for assembling the required bid team; from resources across the business, with the knowledge and availability required to prepare a winning bid

* Develop the required bid plan and manage the bid team and its deliverable in accordance with the Bid Plan, which will likely include contributions from sales, marketing, development, project management, finance, service delivery management and support operations

* Working with the bid team to draft the bid document/s and the associated effort estimate and cost

* Monitor and manage bid production performance and ensure progress remains on track and according to plan.

* Drive through resolution of any technical, strategic and or commercial issues in a timely manner

* Monitor and manage bid viability throughout the bid production process, to ensure the decision to bid is still good and if in doubt implement a bid / no bid review

* Manage the format, layout and content of the written proposal, ensuring adherence to bid instructions and the production of a compliant bid, which is clear, informative, compelling and commercially sound

* Clearly identify, understand and manage the scoring criteria for bid assessment, ensuring that the bid produced includes everything that carries points and is described exactly as is needed to be deemed fully compliant

* Schedule bid reviews and sign off

* Schedule and manage pre-bid briefings, customer bid presentations and post bid de-brief meetings as appropriate

* Develop, manage and continually update a comprehensive bid library of re-usable bid material e.g. Product and service descriptions, solution and schema diagrams, bid document templates, database of agreed customer referees, financial reports, accreditation certificates, CV's etc

* Review the marketplace and relevant frameworks and identify suitable RDP & PQQ's for the company to respond to


Qualifications, Work Experience & Knowledge Required:


* Previous experience of working in a similar bid management (or project manager role), working with tenders/bid response writing within public and private sector bids

* Demonstrable track record of delivering winning, complex product and/or service bids

* In-depth knowledge of the bid process from qualification through to project delivery and able to provide valuable input into qualification, win strategies, commercial discussions and solution delivery

* Excellent understanding of the provisions commonly found in supply contracts dealing with matters such as requirements specification, test, acceptance, implementation, fixed price, time and materials, payment and intellectual property.

* Previous experience of having to present information clearly, succinctly and accurately when attending meetings, giving presentations, or when interacting with colleagues and or clients on a day-to-day basis

* Demonstrable experience of working with multiple company stakeholders (of all levels) including suppliers

* Experience of working within frameworks.


* Formal qualifications in bid and proposal management

* Knowledge of wired or wireless IT networking, storage & infrastructure

* Experience of working within the Information Technology Solutions and Services Sector

* An understanding of software licence agreements, service level agreements, service credit regimes, CapEx, OpEx and per transaction pricing models

Job Offer

The successful Bid Manager will receive:

£40,000k Circa - Negotiable depending on experience

OTE £60,000 -£70,000+ Through an added commission structure for successful bids
