A leading international legal firm is looking for a Global Head of Business Development to join them on a 12 month FTC basis in order to focus on the Energy business group.

The role holder will report directly into the Global Heads of Energy who are based in Paris and Houston and the Global Director of Marketing and Communications based in London as well as a reporting line to each of the regional heads of Energy and will have overall responsibility for the Energy Business Development Manager and Executives. You will also coordinate a team of Energy Business Development Managers across the firm's network. You will work with other industry Global Heads to establish and execute an annual strategy for all industries involved and with associated international business groups, including marketing campaigns, to promote this strategy across the business and externally, directing the expenditure of the annual global budget, ensuring a fair allocation for all regions. The Global Head of BD will be responsible for ensuring a coordinated and efficient approach to client and business development and will be tasked with coordinating and promoting the key client programme and managing and coordinating strategic global bids in addition to assisting and advise the wider global energy business development and central bid teams with any Energy-related bids that they are leading. In addition you will execute the global digital strategy and, working in co-operation with the central PR team, drive Public Relations for the sector with respect to press releases, articles, directories and league tables.

The ideal candidate will possess an outstanding academic record and extensive experience in a legal, professional services or relevant business sector environment. In addition it is essential that candidates are able to demonstrate a deep understanding of business development strategy in a global professional services organisation and proven experience of delivering cross-border business development and marketing campaigns using the full marketing mix whilst working with international business development staff. The role of the Global Head of Business Development for Energy also requires the ability to engage others enthusiastically, a good understanding of the energy industry and good and the ability to spot opportunities for the network. You will be viewed as an expert in your field and must be a commercial thinker who drives both innovation and efficiency.
