Strong data and analysis skills are essential for this exciting new role in the European team of this major global FMCG business. In this key role as the resident expert on shopper, e-commerce and digital insight for a leading pet food brand, you will provide thought leadership and critical input to the customer development strategy organization, with clear actionable insights about shopper needs, attitudes, behaviour and purchase triggers with a focus on digital and e-commerce channels.  This role is all about bringing insight to life so it has a significant impact on business decision making.   Agency or client-experience.

Specific responsibilities in this role include:

  • Setting the digital and e-commerce insight learning agenda for the business, developing learning initiatives to ensure people in different functions understand shopper segmentation and retail behaviour, consumer need states and purchase decisions as well as social media and digital. 
  • Ensuring insights are brought to life through impactful presentations, action orientated recommendations and facilitating work sessions with commercial teams.
  • Building strong relationships with customer insight, marketing and data agencies/suppliers to stay abreast of emerging insights and customer alignment.
  • Conducting primary research and leveraging category knowledge to develop holistic insights and strategies and action plans for the marketing and commercial teams and customers. 
  • Integrating brand strategies, customer strategies, and fact-based insights to deliver persuasive customer-centric insights presentations and team recommendations to achieve company and customer objectives. 
  • Share knowledge, insights and learning with the European markets, acting as a centre of excellence for e-commerce insights and analytics.

Key Skills Checklist
With a robust background in consumer & shopper insight, research and data analytics including syndicated data sources (Nielsen, Kantar, dunnhumby), on-line, digital and social media insight, you’ll be looking for your next career challenge.  We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience in a major on-line retailer, or working closely with on-line retailers, who can hit the ground running in what is a dynamic and busy working environment and highly-competitive category.  Other skills include:

  • Strong commercial experience, ability to think logically and experience applying analytic skills in ways that leverage retail knowledge.  
  • Leadership skills and the ability to sell an idea verbally and in writing, fostering new approaches and solving business issues creatively.
  • Deep understanding of database capabilities and the ability to go beyond static reports and templates to build tailored analyses.
  • Ability to coach team & commercial team on use of different data sets to drive research and analytic learning into action plans.
