The Company
Our client is a global leading retailer in the outdoor and travel sector. Primarily based in Melbourne, Australia, they have a worldwide distribution network and are no. 7 in their brand globally. With a turnover of over £300m pa, they have exciting growth plans that will focus internationally
The Role
As Creative Director your role will be based in fabulous offices in Melbourne and you will manage a team of 8 with 3 direct reports and this may expand to include 2 further teams. An integral part of the marketing set up – a team of over 35 people, you will report to the Group Marketing Manager.
With 3 seasons for this brand (Summer, Autumn, Winter), this role will focus on 2 key areas – their Go to market promotion and the Brand strategy. There will be a strong push towards developing the international market as growth plans are hinged on this.
Managing 6 location shoots per year in NZ, Australia, SE Asia, Northern hemisphere (Turkey, Morocco, USA etc) you are happy to travel for this role.
You’ll be working alongside inspirational people from a diverse international mix with pedigrees gained from North Face, Nike and other key brands and will manage great teams in digital design, graphic design, copywriting and production.
Skills and Experience
You have come from a travel, tourism, sport or outdoor retail background and could be either from an Agency or Client side role as Creative Director.
You have a brilliant approach to managing teams to get them to deliver their best work and have proven experience in delivering creative strategy - ideally internationally.
You understand retail, catalogues, digital sales, promotion and production.
You work well under pressure and can lead with ideas, motivation and back this up with delivery against budget / time constraints.
Adept at presenting, you are happy to present to Board level and to 160 store managers at any time, inspiring them along the way.
