My client are looking for a Senior Media and Communications Officer to join them as soon as possible.

My client are a newly formed organisation based in Liverpool. They have a great culture and office environment.


Key Responsibilities of the Senior Media and Communications Officer:


Provide coordinated and integrated corporate communications support and guidance (primarily related to media relations, but also concerning internal and external communications, partner and stakeholder communications and speech writing)

● Contribute to the delivery of appropriate, integrated communications to support the corporate plan, departmental business plans and major projects.

● Deliver and support effective, consistent internal and external communications of key messages.

● Ensure excellent relationships with key local, national and specialist media.

● Contribute to a corporate approach to development and appropriate deployment of modern, innovative communication practices including social media.

● Contribute to facilitating effective partnership working with colleagues at all levels

● Contribute to delivering crisis communications - proactively and re-actively.

● Manage the media database.

● Promote equality and diversity in and through service provided.

● Contribute to the work of the Communications team allied with proactive and effective performance management and absence management.

● Demonstrate effective project management, planning, organising and co-ordinating and time management.

● Monitor/review processes to report value of communication activity and media coverage to the organisation.

● Compliance with all health and safety legislation and identification and management of risk.

● Involvement with external professional networks.


The ideal Senior Media and Communications Officer:

* Experience of contributing to delivering corporate communications in a complex organisation.
* Experience of delivering integrated corporate marketing communications strategy, planning and delivery including internal, external communications, media relations, stakeholder and partner communications.
* Experience of delivering communications in a partnership environment.
* Experience building effective working relationships with the media.
* Experience of proactive and reactive crisis management communications.
* Ability to prepare and issue media releases to local, regional, national and trade media as appropriate on a regular basis.
* Ability to start in very short notice and work from Liverpool

Job Offer

The Offer - Up to £38,000 or Equivalent Day Rate
