Key responsibilities:

Content strategy

* Own and deliver a data led content strategy, which promotes a single content plan that meets audience demand and is aligned to overall strategic goals, marketing activity and trading objectives
* Lead the creation and distribution of compelling content, driving organic traffic to site and increasing SEO rankings for key search terms to increase on-line presence and support customer acquisition and retention
* Maximise revenue opportunities, commercialising content and exploring supplier and partnership opportunities where relevant to drive a profitable outcome
* Monitor industry and digital trends, ensuring you and the team maintain authority as inhouse digital experts, confident to innovate and evolve a content capability befitting of a market leading specialist retailer.


* Drive plan to ensure content is distributed effectively, in the correct channels, with the correct budget as necessary, to maximise reach, engagement and ROI
* Lead on content development which directly improves online conversion and in-store sales, working with the ecommerce team to ensure it is seamlessly integrated into the online consumer journey
* Ensure efficiencies and processes around content creation, to deliver maximum output and scalability
* Analyse and review performance of online content against key metrics, and make recommendations to optimise both content and user journey to achieve maximum performance and ROI.


* Evolve and build on current social strategy, driving innovation and pushing boundaries across channels to take the social offering to the next level, to ensure competitive edge within the marketplace
* Ensure content development and distribution across all social media channels is in line with strategy and business objectives, increasing natural online presence, social community engagement and brand awareness
* Develop plan for organic and paid distribution of social content, ensuring it is delivered effectively and efficiently across the correct channels, with the correct spend, to maximise reach, engagement and ROI


* Develop and execute a clear video strategy,
* Drive inhouse Studio and external agencies to create and distribute industry leading video content to build brand awareness, drive engagement and reach and deliver ROI
* Manage resource and budget effectively to ensure maximum efficiencies based on commercial benefit and ROI
* Track and analyse video performance and ensure content and distribution are optimised based on results
* Work with Studio Manager to explore Studio potential and make recommendations for future Studio expansion

Resource management

* Responsible for the line management, growth and development of in house digital content team ensuring team are motivated and driven to perform to their full potential, consistently deliver market leading content
* Responsible for building and maintaining excellent working relationships with 3rd party agencies to ensure account teams provide maximum support and input, and agency spend and resource is used effectively
* Responsible for budget, applying commercial awareness and initiative to explore opportunities to cut costs wherever possible, making recommendations and using inhouse resource to ensure efficient spend
* Responsible for ensuring the optimum platforms and tools are in place to support the content objectives. Manage relationship with 3rd party suppliers as necessary.

Skills/Experience required

* The successful candidate should have 5 years+ experience of overseeing the planning, development and management of digital content, within a retail environment
* Educated to degree level, ideally with a relevant marketing qualification
* An excellent understanding of consumer and digital marketing disciplines
* Experience of using a Content Management System
* Proven track record of using web analytics to measure performance
* Experience of managing external agency relationships
* An effective manager and a strong team player, with track record of building strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders in a business and the ability to influence at all levels
* Able to manage and prioritise workload of self and others
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Highly literate with excellent communication skills
* Commercially minded with experience of budget control and management
