Client Details



* Develop and implement the internal communications strategic and action plans as part of the People strategy and is aligned to corporate strategy, business plan and Mission and Values to ensure the most effective two-way communication with staff members

* To be responsible for the management and supervision of staff (Internal Communications Co-ordinator and Intranet Co-ordinator) to enable them to maximise their potential, through leadership, coaching, example, support and guidance.

* Be responsible for the efficient and effective management of the Internal Communications budget

* Provide communications advice and support to the Director of People Development.

* Anticipate and identify issues that require a communications response and escalate accordingly

* Deliver regular effective communications for all staff and volunteers through a range of IT and non IT solutions, addressing the differing needs of the audiences, ensuring ease of access to communications as well as clarity and consistency of messages and appropriate timing

* Ensure a creative approach to internal communications, developing new and engaging ways of delivering key messages or activity to all internal stakeholders and avoiding current communication channels becoming stale

* Provide internal communications advice, guidance, plans and business partnering where it is identified by a directorate / project plans that such support is required.

* Plan and deliver change communications to support major organisational transformation and act as the communications specialist for the change programme. Develop consistent messaging for all change projects.

* Address the ongoing and changing needs of our different groups for sharing information, seeking feedback, peer group support etc

* Responsible for developing the intranet as a key internal communications tool, which is interactive and user-friendly, working alongside other colleagues, including IT

* Manage internal communications channels including newsletters (monthly Staff Matters, monthly Managers' Digest etc), the Communications Group, briefings, Chief Executive's Coffee and Chat, LT Drop-In, social media etc, ensuring follow up and action confirmation


* Experience of developing Internal Communications strategies with demonstrable positive results

Experience of managing internal communications in a complex organisation with geographically dispersed staff

Experience of advising senior managers on complex internal communications challenges including difficult communications

Strong people management skills with the ability to manage, lead and motivate others, working collaboratively and supportively
