As a key member of the media team in this busy press office, you will be working on both proactive and reactive media work. This charity is extremely well known and high profile and tackle very emotive and sensitive issues so you must be skilled in both working carefully and in a timely matter to any reactive stories that this charity would tend to be asked for comment and opinion on, but you must also be skilled at writing tough topic articles for gaining wider awareness and action on issues that are sadly very prevalent in society.

You need to be well versed in dealing with journalists and generating national media (and ideally broadcast) coverage so in a perfect world, you will have started life as a journalist and moved into a press office role within a charity or public sector organisation.

This role is a 6-12m contract role and can be split between the clients' office in East London and a satellite office that is more central.
