The Communications Specialist is responsible for delivering the internal and external communications strategy in the UK and Ireland aligned with the global communications strategy. The individual provides input to the strategy, and delivers on the planning and execution for internal and external communications to ensure successful delivery of messages.


Client Details

My Berkshire based client is a leading provider of therapies that save and sustain lives through its portfolio of hospital and renal products. The position reports to the Communication Manager for the UK and Ireland. The Communications Specialist is responsible for delivering the internal and external communications strategy in the UK and Ireland aligned with the global communications strategy. The individual provides input to the strategy, and delivers on the planning and execution for internal and external communications to ensure successful delivery of messages. External communications includes: media relations, issues management, corporate reputation, social responsibility, and product and therapy communications. Internal communications includes: employee and communications for country leadership.


Description

The Communications Specialist will be responsible for:

* Implement the global communication imperatives in the UK and Ireland in alignment with business goals
* Support message development with the General Manager and Communications Manager with executive and employee communications (townhalls, internal newsletter, select commercial meetings)
* Own, lead and deliver the internal communications strategy for the UK and Ireland
* Localise and implement large scale global employee and reputation programmes in the UK and Ireland
* Deliver and execute communications materials for internal and external use using a variety of channels, including social media
* Deliver and execute external communication activities for product launches and therapy awareness across the UK and Ireland
* Manage issue and crisis communications and provide back up for the Communications Manager
* Develop relationships with key media outlets
* Management of the external websites for the UK and Ireland, including driving content development
* Measure and monitor internal and external communications activities


Profile

The successful candidate will ideally display:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e. Communications, Journalism or English)

Capabilities Innovative, proactive thinker and thought partner

Self-starting and hands-on contributor

Excellent judgement and creative problem-solving skills

Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and to anticipate future needs

Excellent and persuasive communicator
