This role is responsible for understanding the value of the company as a category within all retail channels, utilising data, insight and creativity to build selling stories which create demand, passion and action from retail partners.

Creating the trade marketing plan to cascade the right information to retailers through all communication channels: face to face account management, top-to-tops, trade shows and direct to stores.

Description

Based in London, the Category Marketing Manager will be responsible for:



* Analysis of complex data collected on shopper behaviour from a range of different sources, and then translating into meaningful information. Reporting on data and industry trends relating to "service" categories, and how this relates to the firm.



* The development of ongoing category insights to help us argue that the firm should occupy retailer's space, and that we are placed in the most beneficial parts of the store. Proposition development.



* Creation of opportunities to maximise business growth within the designated category.



* Driving brand awareness of the firm category and products.



* Creation and delivery of b2b marketing materials and content. Education and support for the operations team to deliver the selling stories to retailers.



* The collation and co-ordination of the firm's best practice for retailers, monitoring the effectiveness of sales campaigns to optimise ROI.



* Recommendation of retailer-led initiatives to bring the marketing plans to life across the trade, with a clear focus on the point of purchase.



* Creating a trade marketing strategy and delivering our trade marketing communications plan, coordinating with our corporate comms team and marketing



* Attending and presenting at trade shows and events as required, on behalf of the business. Working with corporate comms to ensure an alignment of marketing-led trade show activity and comms-led retailer PR activity.



* Define clear customer KPIs / targets for trade marketing communications.


Profile

Based in London, the successful candidate must have/be:



Experience:



The ideal candidate will be of a graduate background with previous experience in either Category management or Trade Marketing, but ideally with a blend of both. Minimum 5 years FMCG/ retailer experience, ideally with exposure to convenience retailing and service/ franchise supplier models.

Able to interpret and analyse quantitative and qualitative data, then use this insight to develop strategies and tactics which will influence retailers. Working knowledge of shopper metrics, eg Nielsen or IRI, Kantar and retailer loyalty card data.







Strong Communication:



Able to communicate and present findings to various stakeholders. Be able to persuade, build relationships and negotiate.







Creativity:



The ability to come up with exciting and innovative marketing plans to help set the firm's category apart from the rest.
