Our leading international FMCG client has a clear ambition to be the #1 category and shopper authority and this is great time to join!  As this is the most senior Shopper Marketing Manager position within the team working across two major multiple retailers, it requires a strong understanding of the UK grocery shopper and a deep knowledge of the UK’s customer landscape.  The core objective of the role is the delivery of timely shopper plans to drive shopper conversion, customer engagement and ROI across a portfolio of leading snack food brands along the path to purchase both in-store and online. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development of shopper marketing strategies in line with brand planning timings to successfully attract, engage and convert the target shopper along their path to purchase in a simple and compelling way that inspires.
  • Development of impactful, insightful shopper and trade marketing campaigns in line with brand and customer agendas and in conjunction with agencies, national account and display/ops teams.
  • Effectively interpret all available industry, category, customer and shopper data turning it into a clear set of prioritised opportunities.
  • Drive the shopper agenda with customers and focus on building strong and effective relationships.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Expert understanding of shopper marketing, brand marketing and category management principles and execution.
  • Proven experience of leading, developing and deploying strategic plans that deliver results.
  • Robust understanding of the UK grocery channel (Top 4 and ecommerce).
  • Extensive understanding of customer loyalty card and shopper insight sources.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to take results into clear recommendations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and strong cross functional leadership.  Must have the ability to motivate others and coach more junior members of the team.
