A leading legal firm is looking to appoint a BD Sector Lead to work with the manufacturing Sector Lead Partner (SLP) to develop and launch the global manufacturing sector strategy and plan. Working alongside the banking SLPs and BD leads to implement the firm's strategy in this sector, you will apply learnings from this well-established sector and apply to the manufacturing sector.
You'll work with the (manufacturing and banking) sector client teams to support the development of relationships with their priority clients, delivering the external communications strategy for both sectors, increasing in turn the personal understanding of the internal offering and external needs of these two sectors, and become an expert in both.

Manufacturing Sector key responsibilities include:
* To become recognised as the lead Business Development professional for the manufacturing sector and to provide strategic and tactical advice to the SLP to design and deliver the sector strategy. Evaluate progress against plan and monitor the implementation of key initiatives.
* Regularly review and update the priority clients for the sector.
* Work with practice groups to identify opportunities and to tailor their products to their specific needs.
* Annual financial target setting and budget management for individual accounts and across the sector.
* Implement internal education programme for sector client teams, to share best practice, sector knowledge and knowledge of the firm's products.
* Engage in and encourage active support of the firm's Client Listening programme.
* Build personal understanding of current and emerging issues impacting the sector, including building and leveraging relationships with relevant industry associations and bodies.
* Develop profile raising initiatives including a content strategy and thought leadership.

Banking sector key responsibilities include:
* To work alongside the business development leads in delivering against the banking sector strategy.
* Objectives for this sector are consistent with those above.
* Performance of sectors against agreed financial targets.
* Completion of the agreed number of client reviews annually, and dissemination of relevant feedback.
* Feedback from internal stakeholders.
* Engagement of client teams in sector approach.
* Being recognised as the key point of contact, and commercial expert, for both sectors.
* Delivering against the strategic objectives of both sectors.
* Demonstrating collaboration between internal teams to improve the effectiveness of sector approach.

You will ideally have 7+ years' experience in business development with a particular focus on strategic selling, pursuits management and client management within a professional services environment. You will be able to demonstrate commercial awareness, with strong project management skills and be able to influence at a senior level and possess a high level of personal integrity. You will have experience in influencing at a senior level within a professional services or large corporate environment with strong interpersonal skills, and with a proven ability to build trusting relationships with the partnership and business services management alike. You will possess common sense and resilience, and be collaborative and results-focused.
