For all Communications activities, the individual will maximise the promotion of the brand image and products & services, in order to contribute to the sales results of the overall Great Britain & Ireland establishment as well as increasing brand awareness locally. The individual will help handle Press and Public Relations matters and work closely with the Communications teams in Amsterdam and Paris and where relevant, with other departments locally and at Head Office level.

Description

Key Responsibilities will include:

* Actively support the Communications Manager in implementing the Communications Department Plan
* Take ownership and act as the commercial PR expert within cross functional project groups

* Manage the implementation of press trips, campaigns and events triggered either by head office corporate or local commercial project groups
* Take the lead in liaising and building relationships with relevant Head Office Communications teams to ensure there is two way communication on all campaigns and events
* Proactively help in tracking the ROI for campaigns by monitoring the press and creating and sharing media coverage reports
* Handle UK & Ireland media relations whilst protecting and promoting the company image and brand identity
* Evaluate all support requests and manage Complex budget effectively, based on local KPIs and objectives
* Help promote local brands USPs to build positive brand reputation in the UK & Ireland
* Where relevant attend PR/industry events and expand network of relevant contacts
* Proactively update their line manager on issues arising in the local media as well as the senior management team and Head Office where required
* Plan local press conferences, press briefings and media interviews and take the lead in the organisation of such events
* Contribute to writing external press releases, media statements and speeches
* Liaise with and report directly to the GBI Management Team to prepare briefings before meeting or addressing local media
* Where required, accompany journalists on group press trips whilst promoting products and services and building a positive brand reputation within UK & Ireland
* In case of a crisis, support the Communications Manager on any relevant communication matters while always protecting the brand image
* Under the supervision of the Communications Manager, handle customer complaint issues raised by the press and contribute to the writing of media statements when required
* Report to the Communications Manager regarding all upcoming invoices to ensure thorough budget management


Profile

The successful candidate will have:

* Educational background in a Communications discipline
* Excellent spoken and written English essential
* In house PR or agency experience
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to last minute changes
* Familiar with MS office tools, emails and internet

Job Offer

The role is paying up to £30,000 + benefits.
