An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced business development professional to join a major law firm as a Business Development Manager. The role holder will support the continued development of the firm's Dispute Resolution and Litigation practice for the Europe & EMEA region across all industry sectors.

The successful candidate will support the practice's key business objectives through planning and leading incisive marketing and business development initiatives across the EMEA business. The Business Development Manager reports to the Head of Business Development in London and the Head of Dispute Resolution and Competition EMEA and will work in close cooperation with marketing and business development teams across both EMEA and globally. The role involves responsibilities over strategic planning and management, client development, profile-raising, bid development, and the promotion of best practice across the firm. You will manage one executive and will devise and deliver a practical BD strategy, marketing plan and budget to develop the Disputes practice, ensuring that the objectives of the EMEA practice are aligned with those of the wider global group. Via marketing campaigns and thought leadership, you will support product development for client dialogue and targeting purposes, and facilitate participation in the client feedback programme to identify new business development opportunities. The practice's profile-raising objectives will be achieved through delivery of marketing communications campaigns which drive brand recognition and growth, as well as your work on marketing communications, including in the press and online. You will agree target rankings with senior staff, and report on the progress your team makes, developing your approach as necessary.
You will also project manage relevant bids, including drafting and editing them, ensuring adherence to company guidelines, and providing high quality content.

The successful candidate will be a confident team-player with significant relevant marketing and organisational experience within a professional services environment, ideally at a legal firm. You will be well educated and possess demonstrable experience of managing and writing bids and of managing direct reports. It is essential that the Business Development Manager is highly organised, able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and has the interpersonal skills to build trust among the fee-earning team and wider stakeholder community.
