Senior Communications Officer – SCC02258

Fixed term until May 2019.

We’re looking for someone truly exceptional - politically-astute, able to juggle multiple demands and a talented and experienced communicator and campaigner. Does that sound like you? If so, then you could be who we’re looking for!

Suffolk County Council’s communications team exists to support the council in delivering its 2017-21 policy priorities. We add value and expertise by delivering campaigns that use behavioural insights to drive change, shaping and sharing information and protecting and enhancing the council’s reputation.

We think about audiences first and deliver communications activities that achieve agreed results. We like to learn, so evaluate our work to measure its impact and improve in the future.

Our team is an environment where people thrive.

We’re looking for a Senior Communications Officer, with proven experience of developing and delivering high-profile communications campaigns. Working with other communications professionals, politicians and service experts, you will also protect and enhance the council’s reputation – including working with the media and communicating effectively with council colleagues.

Our team is quickly becoming a centre of excellence for delivering campaigns and using behavioural insights. We strive to make a real difference – bringing creativity and turbo-charging communications and campaigns.

If you’re a skilled communications professional with proven experience of delivering a range of high profile communications campaigns, then what are you waiting for?
