Do you have a PR and Marketing background with significant line management experience? If so come and join our Marketing and Communications Team and contribute to the incredible work that we do across Sue Ryder. 

The Role 

As our new Regional Marketing & Communications Manager, you will lead and develop a team of five Marcomms officers who are based locally in our hospices and neurogical centres. You will oversee the development of local marketing and communication plans, working closely with colleagues in the central Marketing and Communications team to ensure local activity is in line with national guidelines and ensure a consistent and joined up approach to increase impact. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Raise the profile of the Marcomms Officers and the importance of brand, ensuring each hospice and neurological centre has a marketing and communications strategy that aligns with organisational objectives and supports local and national fundraising activity, recruitment of volunteers and the promotion of our services. 
  • Build strong, internal relationships with teams across Sue Ryder, and act as a brand motivator and guardian, supporting the Marcomms Officers in the delivery of brand training and ensuring that the public areas of our centres, our messaging and activities are on-brand. 
  • Work alongside colleagues in the Internal Communications, PR, Marketing and Digital teams to support and ensure that the most appropriate channels and develop integrated plans to launch new services 
  • Work with the hospices and centres senior leadership teams to package and market services that meet the needs of commissioners and ensure that the services are named appropriately and consistently 
  • Support the Marcomms Officers to identify opportunities for national coverage and collect engaging stories and images, with appropriate consent, that can be used by the Fundraising, Internal Communications, Marketing and PR teams in appeals, campaigns and materials. 
  • Continuously increase sector knowledge and understanding of latest marketing trends, and attend relevant external conferences, seminars and networking events.
