A well-established global M&BD team, which supports the firm on a wide range of business development, client relationship management and reputational activities needs a capable and enthusiastic assistant to support the M&BD team in BD and marketing activities for the Financial Practice Group for a 12 month contract - a broad remit across some fast-paced and interesting areas of law - and a great role for a junior marketing and BD assistant looking to make an impact.

The role will encompass a range of business development and marketing activities for the Practice Group, working collaboratively with the firm's industry sector groups, including: pitching and credentials; client targeting and cross-selling; client/sector and competitor analysis; profile raising and marketing campaigns including communications such as directory submissions, online content, and BD evaluation and reporting, as well as some administrative tasks to support the team.

You will have previous experience in working in a business development/marketing environment and be comfortable in, a partnership or equivalent professional services environment. You will possess a general understanding of the commercial world and its drivers and of marketing and business development processes. You will have the ability to create a positive impact with colleagues, peers, partners and clients and to demonstrate diplomacy, listening and influencing skills, good written and verbal communication skills with an excellent eye for detail and the ability to write compelling propositions, and demonstrate a keen interest in self-development and show initiative. You'll be a team player who is proactive with a 'can do attitude', who works effectively under pressure, is consistent with excellent service delivery to internal clients and demonstrates an understanding of the firm's business and marketplace.

Prior knowledge and experience of working in a law firm and/or in a Finance practice role would be advantageous, as would a general understanding of the legal market (in terms of key players and product areas) to aid familiarity with terminology and to add as much value as possible when talking with partners.
