Social and Content Strategist

You will be responsible for engaging with over 1M brand owners and fans every week, via a wide range of platforms. You will be always looking at new ways to innovate in the social space, as well as ways of integrating social into the wider marketing mix. The social strategist will oversee the development of the content calendar; planning content, spotting opportunities, developing and activating the influencer strategy, reporting on campaign performance and supporting event amplification.
You will be required to develop channel and content strategies to varied objectives, and be able to educate and advice clients and colleagues alike on formats and measurement. You will write briefs to inspire creative teams to develop interesting, exciting work for social media and this mobile-first world.
As part of the team you will plan and execute a digital communications strategy to maximise engagement, advocacy and brand awareness across owned and earned media online. You will manage one direct report, the community manager, and will oversee the development of the social content calendars. You will be involved in event sponsorship amplification for the brand, at some exciting sporting events. You will plan and execute the influencer outreach strategy for the brand, working closely with your clients press team to create content with influencers that inspires and reassures. You will have a clear understanding of the customer journey and the role of social at each stage, and will always be on the lookout for reactive opportunities and the chance to go above and beyond when interacting with fans.
You’ll report on the performance of our platforms and establish a clear understand of our community, a knowledge you can share with the wider team to inform wider strategy and comms. Finally, you will implement test and learn plans for content across all social platforms to constantly improve on our social output. You will work with the social director to drive the innovation agenda for the brand, spotting opportunities, working with platforms and educating clients and colleagues alike.
You’ll need experience in developing social strategies for a major brand and a deep understanding of the social landscape and where it is going. You will have an ambition to push boundaries and explore new ways of ensuring your clients brand stands out in the busy online space, and generates strong business results for the brand. You will understand the power of online video story-telling, and have experience working on effective campaigns in this, mobile, space. You will have some capabilities and understanding of SEO, SEM and PPC advertising plus competence in tracking, reporting and analysing data. You’ll be a creative and strategic thinker with the ability to inspire creatives, direct digital design and think on your feet in ‘on the ground’ situation to capture something interesting and tell a story. You will ideally be familiar with monitoring and profile management software eg. Crimson Hexagon, Conversocial, Hootsuite etc.
