A solid track record managing shopper & consumer research is essential for this challenging and interesting role, working for IGD, the leading source of information and best practice on the consumer goods industry. Taking the lead on high-profile insight projects for major FMCG and retail clients, you’ll use your robust grasp of qual & quant research, including strong attitudinal and brand research skills - analysing data to identify clear and compelling business and category insights that help grocery companies improve their performance in the market. In this busy and dynamic environment, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise, keeping abreast of new skills and approaches and working with some of the best in the industry.
As a Shopper Insight Manager at IGD, you will also identify opportunities to undertake customised projects for major clients, utilising the best available methodologies and keeping abreast of sector developments and customer expectations. Your specific areas of responsibility will include:
- Undertake and publish shopper research: You will own and manage the production of business-critical shopper research for ShopperVista, IGD’s online brand for shopper insight.
- Customised research: You will identify opportunities to undertake customised projects for our clients. This will involve capturing briefs, writing proposals and delivering research programs.
- Developing IGD’s shopper and Shopper research methodologies: You will ensure IGD is utilising the best available methodologies for all research, keeping abreast of sector developments and customer expectations and being open to new methodologies.
- Customer engagement and brand-building: You will support activities that promote the development of ShopperVista as the IGD shopper brand, encouraging customer and stakeholder engagement.
Our Ideal Candidate
Extensive experience managing shopper & consumer research ideally some of this in FMCG sector is key to this role with a solid grounding working in a research agency essential; client-side experience is also highly desirable. Your experience will span different research methodologies and approaches, continuous and ad-hoc including tracking data. You will have outstanding analytical and creative thinking skills and be able to synthesise data from multiple sources turning it into clear and practical insights that drive decision making. Strong communications skills are essential, together with the ability to manage multiple projects, building close relationships with clients and identifying opportunities to develop and win new projects.
