This is a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Executive to join a leading global law firm on a 6-9 month fixed term contract basis. The successful candidate will provide business development support to the Europe and Middle East Corporate practice group with a particular focus on Private Equity.

The position sits within a growing and energetic firm-wide business development and marketing team of professionals and represents a great opportunity to work closely with other business development professionals in London and globally to ensure that EMEC's client targeting initiatives and information on existing and potential deals are coordinated successfully. The role is client facing and you will work closely with US and EMEA counterparts to develop an international approach to BD. The role holder will be responsible for co-ordinating and implementing business development activities, overseeing client events including event management and supporting group strategies across the firm for Private Equity and the wider EMEC group. The Business Development Executive will work on new proposal opportunities and will be instrumental in delivering a first good working document for the partners. You will be tasked with updating and preparing practice related materials and collating and producing documents for pitches and proposals, collecting deal, case and matter information, maintaining deal lists, updating the firm's databases with significant deals and updating lawyer and practice group information on the website and intranet. Making use of and encouraging secretaries, associates & partners to use the firm's CRM system through best practice initiatives will represent an important element of this role. In addition you will conduct research and analysis on clients and organisations, act as a liaison point between the design and events teams in respect of client events, co-ordinate directory submissions and work with the PR team on practice group PR initiatives and profile raising

The successful candidate must have previous experience in a marketing or business development position within Private Equity or Corporate and should be educated to degree level or equivalent, with some experience of client facing activities. The Business Development Executive must also have advanced experience of Microsoft Office Suite, strong organisation skills and demonstrate a willingness to learn and actively promote the use of the firm's CRM system. Familiarity with account principles and reporting would also be advantageous. The role requires strong organisational skills, the ability to manage a large workload and confidence to work with limited management, thus excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform under pressure is critical.
