Communications and External Relations brings together the main areas involved in leading the University’s strategic positioning and profile.

A new opportunity is available for a talented and committed marketing and/or student recruitment professional to play a central role in supporting marketing and recruitment of Essex Business School (EBS). You will be based in the School, but a member of the University’s central Marketing and Student Recruitment Office (MASR).

Role and Duties

You will work closely with colleagues in EBS, MASR and from across the University to ensure that the distinctiveness of Essex Business School is communicated to key audiences. Your responsibilities will include the development and delivery of marketing and recruitment campaigns to aid growth in student enrolments and contributing to raising the profile of the Essex Business School in its target markets.

Qualifications and Skills required

Applicants are expected to hold an honours degree or equivalent-level qualification or experience. A membership to a relevant professional body is desirable but not essential.

You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience of producing marketing campaigns across a broad range of channels, sound administrative skills, a keen interest in current marketing practices and developments, experience of dealing with multiple priorities and tight deadlines, and experience of taking a creative approach to integrated marketing.

This appointment is for a fixed-term of one year in order to provide cover for a permanent member of staff who is absent from work on maternity leave.
