Integrated Marketing & Communications Manager – Pharmaceuticals

Role: Initial 12-month fixed term contract

Location: Flexible (with c. 3 days/week on-site in Barnstaple, Devon)

Salary: £45k – £65k + bonus + significant benefits

The Role:

We’re seeking a creative yet pragmatic individual to rollout our integrated marketing, PR and communications plans, in-line with business objectives, across our UK sites and external activities. Working closely with our ‘Head of Marketing, Comms and PR’ and ‘EMENA Comms & PR Lead’, you’ll help finalise and manage our internal and external multi-channel activities (print and digital) to ensure we’re continuously delivering value to our customers, employees and company. Your day could include liaising with stakeholders to execute monthly commitments (e.g. business update presentations and emails), coordinating responsive and planned PR campaigns with our creative and PR agencies (including crisis comms, success stories and building trade media relationships) or working with HR to support employee relations and employer brand activities. Acting as our integrated marketing ambassador for the UK, you’ll help implement effective processes to ensure our integrated activities run smoothly and consistently, and are designed to capture key metrics and evaluation data. Keeping our brand central at all times, you’ll develop well-written and engaging content to stretch across all media, adapting it appropriately for specific audiences (internal and external) and ensuring compliance with company and industry codes of practice (e.g. ABPI). In addition, you’ll provide guidance and support to the broader Marketing and Communications team, sharing your knowledge and experience to help continuously improve our skillsets.

The Person:

With previous experience in similar marketing, PR or communications roles (in-house or agency), you’ll have significant experience delivering multi-channel activities in a highly regulated sector. With a clear understanding of integrated marketing, you understand the importance of keeping your brand central to all you do and using compelling stories to engage and unite customers and employees. Ideally, you’ll have experience working across multi-site organisations, print and digital platforms, building inclusive employer brands, managing external agencies and project budgets, using intranet systems for comms purposes and dealing with the press. From an industry perspective, you’ll have a sound understanding of the ABPI code, an appreciation of our customers and a working knowledge of the NHS, BGMA and pharmaceutical governance requirements. As a person, you’re positive, calm and proactive – happy working on your own initiative, but an equally strong team player who’s happy to share their experience in a constructive manner. Known for your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you inspire confidence, influence decisions and develop relationships at all levels. With good project management abilities, you’re well organised, and able to multi-task, even in a fast-paced and changeable environment. A graduate-level qualification in a relevant subject would be beneficial, whilst strong copywriting skills are essential. You’ll also have the flexibility to travel to other sites, as needed and good Microsoft Office abilities.
