The Product Manager has a chance to essentially run their own niche part of the business, while steering the direction of the Product and Marketing portion of the company.

The client in question are a global publisher in Skipton, who are offering excellent development for the right individual, and the chance to work for a pioneer and innovative leader of the industry


You will be tasked with marketing and publishing all products within your profit centre, and this includes overseeing existing titles, idea generation and finally bringing new products to market.

You will also work in close proximity and collaboration with the editorial team in print (and online) for the target group. The Product Manager will also manage the supply chain through every stage of the product process; and in turn ensuring all publications/services are sent to customers on time.

You will also develop the product strategy and vision for the business; a business critical responsibility.

Furthermore, it will be your responsibility to collect, analyse and respond to user feedback; alongside planning new features and adaptations to the product itself.

This should be done while demonstrating your new ideas and features for the product. Learning about the users of a product, and also its existing of market will be a high priority. This includes both competitors and similar products.

The Product Manager will also proactively work to understand the market through careful analysis, and use this analysis to create product development briefings. You shall also attend conferences and events related to the product sectors.

Maximising product sales will also be paramount, by overseeing all marketing activity; including copywriters/ advertising agencies/ online marketing/ telemarketing agencies and online marketing.

Finally, the Product Manager will maximise renewals by working with writers and copywriters on editorial content and by testing new offers and renewal strategies. It will also fall to you to prepare yearly planning targets and budgets for your profit centre.


You must possess a minimum of 4 years proven experience within marketing, product management or publishing is required- alongside a relevant degree!

Energy and enthusiasm for the products and brands is a must, coupled with creativity and flair in copy and design.

Experience gained in a similar role will also be necessary- this could be through another product management role or through marketing experience with product.

You will be able to show how you have pulled together relevant concepts and ideas to lead the way in product and range development.

Organisation lies in everything here; along with a thorough ability to prioritise, especially as you will be working on multiple products at any one time. With that in mind, an ability to make things happen to deadlines is critical.

Decisiveness- you must be willing to make decisions and the conviction to carry them out.

Analytical skills are critical here, especially when focusing on actual sales and forecasting future opportunities. This is where attention to detail when proofreading content, negotiating costs and producing paperwork becomes necessary.

Experience of PPC Agency management, data analysis, telemarketing agency management, online marketing, copywriting and content management would be advantageous.
