My client, a fast paced commercial business based in Manchester, is recruiting a Communications Manager to join their Communications team. Reporting to the Head of Communications, working closely with senior leaders across the business, you will proactively develop and deliver the communications strategy and plans for successful delivery and measurement of all internal and external communications activity across all business areas.

Key Responsibilities:
To contribute to the development and implementation of a communications and engagement strategy for specific areas within the company - focus on engaging, informing and involving leadership teams and colleagues at all levels, both internal and external communications
Provide communications coaching to Executive and senior leaders in specific areas within the company, and to multiple internal stakeholders to improve internal, external communication, driving engagement and ensuring consistency of key messages
Develop and protect reputation and profile of the company across external channels
Support effective stakeholder management and engagement across the company
Provide communications planning and delivery to support business and culture change programmes
Develop, manage and measure existing and new communication channels to drive effective two-way communication and employee engagement
Plan, deliver and measure colleague communication and engagement events, internally and externally
Building relationships with national and local media; generating content for websites and social media
Support delivery of crisis and strategic communications across the company and business units
To be available to support emergency out-of-hours requests on an agreed rota basis across the department
Lead employee engagement forums to provide opportunities for ongoing debate and feedback from colleagues across the organisation on key business change initiatives and messaging
Deliver communications within an agreed budget and resources to achieve local objectives in line with the communications and engagement strategy and the organisation's strategic plan
Provide monthly and quarterly reporting to Executive and leadership teams on communications progress and success through business as usual and key projects
Work closely with senior leaders and the Executive team to develop strategic communications at core business cycle points and through regular updates.

Skills Required:
Educated to Degree level (English, Marketing, Journalism, PR, Communications)
Must have solid recent communications experience in a busy communications team, developing clear messages through integrated matrix of communication channels and leading on strategic projects and change programmes
Must possess a strong communications background within a commercial business
Experience in developing internal and external communications, employee engagement, project communications, crisis management and change management projects
Track record of success in change communications, group / business unit environments and managing communication of difficult messages
Must have team management experience
Excellent stakeholder management experience and skills, with the ability to build strong, effective relationships across the organisation at all levels to successfully influence and deliver change
First-class written and verbal communications skills, and strong listening skills
Outstanding planning skills, balancing tight deadlines, while still maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a multiple activities and priorities
Experience of producing engaging, clear and accessible communications for a range of audiences
