Description

This is a pivotal role that will have oversight of all communication activities undertaken by The Charity.

The Head of Media & Communications will lead on the development and delivery of integrated campaigns that achieve the organisation's prompted brand awareness targets, raise vitals funds for the organisation, and promote services.

Key responsibilities are:



1. Develop and lead on marketing and communications strategies in line with the overall organisational strategy.



2. Oversee all brand awareness raising marketing and communications activities for the organisation, and oversee delivery of activities across traditional marketing channels and through proactive PR.



3. Provide leadership to the communications, media and PR and brand teams, setting clear objectives and supporting professional development in line with organisation's values.



4. Develop and lead on communications strategies, set clear objectives and KPIs that supports the strategy and reputation.



5. Work with the Director of Digital Engagement and Communications to design and implement a new model of collaborative working across the organisation to facilitate a more integrated approach to communications and marketing campaigns.



6. Oversee marketing and communications support for the organisation's teams: fundraising, research and service and influencing.



7. Develop a creative PR approach to proactively secure media coverage.



8. Deliver a powerful and engaging proactive and reactive news agenda



9. Lead a 24/7, 365 day Media and PR team, including regional and national PR.



10. Oversee the adoption of the brand and brand values across the whole organisation.



11. Work in close collaboration with the Head of Digital to maximise the values of campaigns across all traditional and digital marketing channels and ensure consistency of brand and messaging.



12. Oversee internal communications in order to continuously build on excellent employment engagement.



13. Oversee celebrity activity and assist with management of high profile supporters.


Profile

To be successful, you will have the following experience:

- Educated to degree level or equivalent

- Significant experience of developing PR and Communications strategies ideally within a charity or 3rd sector organisation

- Experience of dealing with the media and developing relationships with journalists

- Experience of working with high profile stakeholders

- Positive can-do attitude
