Description

They key responsibilties of the role are as follows:

-Plan, manage and deliver proactive media relations campaigns to increase brand profile of the business



 -Ability to draft comprehensive PR materials including news / products releases, media alerts, fact sheets, press packs, status reports and other related materials



 -Work with PR and Communications Manager and the public affairs agency to share group strategy and activity updates with key internal stakeholders



- Achieve regular high quality coverage for the brand of the business



- Effectively respond to and escalate crisis and issues PR as needed



 -Build journalist relationships on behalf of the business- key trade, regional and national press



- Work with the PR and Communications Manager to develop and implement the external Group PR strategy



- Work with the PR and Communications Manager, and the regional teams to develop and implement the regional PR strategies



 -Develop and manage PR activity plans for each of the regions and business units



- Effectively build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within regions and business units



- Monitor media coverage and enquiries disseminating information to relevant employees and management teams



- Weekly reading of the key trade titles and suggesting relevant features for the business to contribute towards



 -Photography - management of booking and briefing documents



- Work with PR and Communications Manager to ensure content is utilised for cross channel promotion



- Attend business events to obtain potential story pitches



- Develop, maintain and manage the media contacts database for the business



 -Taking part in regular meetings with all regional teams (nationally) to discuss all upcoming projects, events and meetings that will require PR support



 -Actively pursue new media outlets to share the story of the business



- Effectively manage reactive media enquiries and proactively approach the media


Profile

The PR Manager should have;



- Previous experience of working in journalism or for a busy press office



- NCTJ (National Council for the Training of Journalists) qualified or similar degree qualification



- A full understanding of the UK media landscape and the principles that sit behind developing and delivering communications plans to protect and enhance brand and reputation



- Significant experience of dealing with all forms of media and a track record of delivering successful communications strategies



- First class written and verbal communications skills



- An understanding of the construction industry is desirable



 -An understand of the B2B media landscape is essential



- Articulate, energetic and self-motivated



- Significant experience in a similar role.



- Experience of developing and implementing communication plans, strategies, campaign and projects.



- An understanding of large, complex organisations.



 -Experience in developing regular feedback channels to promote cross communication within an organisation, demonstrating key messages were delivered in a consistent and timely manner.



-Previous experience of working in Journalism or within a busy press office NCTJ (National Council for the Training of Journalists) qualified or similar degree qualification.

- Significant experience of dealing with all forms of media and a track record of delivering successful communications strategies.
