Reporting to the Head of Policy, the Head of Communications heads a small team and has overall responsibility for the proactive and effective management of media and public relations for the Falkland Islands Government including the development of comprehensive communications strategies related to key corporate and political issues.

Are you a strong and dynamic communicator with a strategic flair and a way with words.

If so, then this unique position in the Falkland Islands may be for you.
Providing advice and guidance to senior government leaders and elected officials on a wide range of communications issues is only part of this role. Creating strategic and proactive communications plans, enhancing social media and web presence, building and maintaining media and stakeholder relations, and raising the profile and enhancing the reputation of the Falkland Islands are also key elements of the job.
As lead to a small and busy team, the successful candidate will need a 'roll-up-you sleeves' approach and the flexibility to provide communications support as and when required.
At a minimum, we would expect candidates to demonstrate 5 or more years of pertinent experience, and also to possess a degree in a relevant subject such as journalism, public relations or communications.
