Looking for confident PR Officer to to share the University's story of transforming potential into success through traditional and non-traditional media.

Client Details

A highly ranked and well established London based University


* Proactively work with a research officer to develop a bank of case studies to promote student experience and student outcomes.

* Contribute to the development of the stakeholder relations and communications strategy that delivers thematic campaigns to raise the profile of the University

* At times take responsibility an act as a media advisor and help deliver media training for staff.

* Use social media channels to disseminate news to key stakeholders and the wider public.

* Present complex academic research in an engaging way, finding appropriate news hooks for the target audience.

* Proactively plan PR activities around the University's events calendar and recruitment cycle, and sell-in the case studies for supplements.

* Support with photography, events and publications where needed.


* Must have experience dealing with national journalists and at least one national campaign.

* Outstanding writing skills, with the ability to deliver high quality written communications to a wide variety of audiences and across multiple channels

* Stakeholder Management skills, dealing with a number of tricky internal and external stakeholders. Having the ability to persuade and influence at a variety of levels, selling-in stories and case studies on a regular basis.

* Experience of delivering media campaigns and working alongside other communications disciplines to coordinate plans

* Experience of PR crisis management

* Good news judgement and an ability to identify key messages and story angles

* Experience of working in a busy environment constantly having to re-prioritise work to tight deadlines

Job Offer

Salary: £30,000-£32,000

Annual Leave: 30 days per annum, plus eight Bank Holidays and seven University days taken at Christmas (pro rata for part-time staff
