One of London's largest Universities is looking for a Director of Marketing and Communications to lead in the development and delivery of a new compelling Brand strategy. Through defining a clear and consistent message, The role will be responsible for helping build awareness, reputation and connectivity with multiple stakeholders.

An established University based in London University


This role involves managing and leading a large team, with 4 direct reports and a wider team of up to 40 people across PR and Communications, Creative Services, Research and Brand Marketing.

The Director of Marketing and Communications will have a wide scope of responsibilities covering areas such as

* Implementing and overseeing a meaningful programme of customer insight allowing the University to increase the impact of marketing campaigns.

* Define the overarching message strategy for the University across the multiple schools of study.

* Work closely with the marketing team and advertising agencies to build on brand ideas driving business growth through multiple channels

* Work with all departments to ensure customer strategy, message and experience reflect the core values of the university

* Lead and develop a public relations strategy targeted towards leaner and corporate communities, helping grow the Universities Media Profile.

* Increase the Universities social media and brand presence helping differentiate the brand in digital environment.

* Actively managing PR agencies and develop strong relationship with media influencers

* Strengthen the connectivity between employees and the University brand through internal communication programs

* Lead Brand Metrics, setting KPI's, monitoring and performance reporting


The successful candidate will have,

* Experience within the Education sector (FE/HE) within a senior marketing role.
* Team management experience
* Strong foundation in communications and marketing competencies, including media relations, communications planning, internal communications, brand development, band storytelling and measurement/analytic
* Experience of brand development and management for a consumer focused brand
* Experience of brand marketing and communications across digital platforms
* Experience of leading a team of marketing and communications professionals. Inclusive of creative services and public relations

Job Offer

£61,000 - £69,000
