NEW Business Development Manager- Corporate with growing law firm.

The Business Development Manager- Corporate will support the firm's partners in achieving the objectives set out in the firm's business plan by managing the implementation of BDM initiatives for the corporate department and various sector/international groups.

You will provide day to day BDM support, working with partners and fee earners to develop structured and planned approaches across the full range of BDM activities, including: business development planning; client relationship management; targeting and cross-selling; client/sector analysis, evaluation and reporting. You will take a lead role in preparing proposals, pitch presentations and credentials statements, developing and maintaining a detailed knowledge of the firm's business.

* Devise and implement tactical BDM plans for the corporate department and a number of cross firm interest groups. Drive strategic business development initiatives in line with business goals.
* Undertake budget management including an assessment of the cost vs benefit of all BDM activity to ensure that resources are used in an efficient and effective manner.
* Attend specific practice group meetings to provide guidance and input on all proposed activities and projects at the ideas stage and to ensure that previously agreed initiatives are progressed.
* Undertake client, sector and competitor research as appropriate.
* Establish with the BDM for Real Estate & Litigation a mechanism for reporting and measuring ROI to include tracking and monitoring of activity, lead times, conversion ratios, client feedback, services purchased.
* Maintain an overall knowledge of the firm and an in-depth knowledge of the experience of the corporate department and relevant cross firm groups.
* With the Director of BDM, evaluate the commercial viability of bid opportunities and make justified recommendations as to whether or not opportunities should be pursued.
* Act as the main BDM point of contact for pitches and bids for corporate, advising partners on the recommended route for responding to formal and informal opportunities and managing the process from start to execution.

Successful candidates will have previous Business Development Manager experience working within the legal environment. Corporate sector experience would be advantageous, e.g. capital markets, finance/financial services, private equity or competition. You will also be able to demonstrate a proven track record of excellent direct client contact and client care.
