Your new company
Your new company is a public sector organisation within Education. Due to a maternity on the team they are looking to recruit for a press officer on a temporary basis, initially for 3 months with possible extension.

Your new role
Your new role will report directly into the head of communications and public affairs. As a press officer your main responsibilities will form around external communications, including the generation, writing and pitching of content for the media, corporate publications and for the website. You will be managing the press office social media platforms to engage with an external audience and also be reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of the engaging communications.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you must be educated to degree level, have a higher degree or professional qualification. You must have experience as a press officer and be able to demonstrate experience of media reactive communications and also media and press planning and pitching. You will have knowledge and understanding of press and media at all levels including local and national. You will have a high level of interpersonal and communications skills in order to influence and represent the university.
