I am looking for a highly commercial and experienced shopper researcher. The position is a balance of general management of the research function within a highly commercial consumer business as well conducting research projects.

Client Details

My client is a Berkshire based consumer research business who pride themselves on delivering growth to clients through their areas of expertise.


The Head of Shopper Research will be responsible for:

* Coordination of research team, projects and resource.

* Research budget delivery and management of the internal administration of the Shopper Research function

* Responsibility for the delivery of the research budget

* Quality control on all function outputs

* Generating New Business within the Shopper Research department

* Writing Proposals

* Writing/Supervising Briefs

* Generating and delivering new business pitches

* Conducting, analysing and debriefing research

* Quant agency management

* Bespoke analysis management

* PR management

* Analysis

* Managing Agencies qualitative and quantitative


The Head of Shopper Research will desirably display:

* A Research practitioner with extensive experience in conducting Shopper (and Consumer) research with an understanding of role of shopper versus consumer.

* Fully conversant in briefing / conducting / analysing and debriefing qualitative and quantitative research; techniques including:

* Quantitative survey techniques (design, script, analysis and segment, SPSS, Q, Access or other tools for survey data analysis)

* Qualitative research (experienced in face to face and other interviewing techniques, behavioural science and observation work)

* Eye Tracking preferable

* Experience in managing third party research and support agencies, both qualitative and quantitative

* Currently operating at Controller level or ready for the move up to this level of seniority

* Strong presentation skills with an ability to be compelling to clients

* The ability to turn data / information into commercially driven insight essential

* Consumer research experience beneficial

* Research agency background or researcher within FMCG
