You will advise senior managers and expert staff about how we can enhance our reputation, promote our public health mission, and deliver our business priorities. You must have a good understanding of what makes good engaging content. You will manage the digital content designers and ensure the delivery of an excellent digital and content service. Working with the Head of News, Digital and Content you will manage our strategic content and planning process, identifying content opportunities across the agency and within the health sector.

Key responsibilities:

* Proactively and creatively initiate, lead, and develop our content planning and work to demonstrate the agency's wider contribution to public health in line with agency objectives.
* Manage content distribution across our channels and use content management systems to analyse and evaluate content distributed through our external channels to help inform recommendations for improvement.
* Ensure our content is accurate and informative conveying agency key messages. Create and publish engaging content and edit, proofread and improve our external channels. Liaise with the digital content designers to ensure brand consistency when issuing content.
* Work with the Head of News, Digital and Content to ensure consistent management of an editorial content calendar to deliver a strong content planning process.
* Maintain and improve content through the development of a content hub to ensure strong engaging, accurate content is planned effectively.
* Manage and maintain the content on our websites, digital and social media channels to increase engagement ensuring an effective strategic content and planning process. Ensuring these channels are updated accordingly through the use of content management systems.
* Identifying content from across the agency, and ensuring it is re-purposed into a relevant format and style for the appropriate channel(s) to enhance our reputation and deliver business objectives. Consideration should be given to visual graphics and animations.
* Work closely with the Government Digital Service to ensure digital channels and services meet current standards.
* Develop and nurture good working practices and relationships with agency staff providing appropriate, clear and trusted advice and guidance to them.
* Deputise for the Head of News, Digital and Content where appropriate using effective leadership skills.
* Develop and nurture contacts to promote the work and role of the agency.
* Play a proactive role in the communications division's account management and project management system.
* Play a proactive role in delivering the MHRA's communications and reputation strategy.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the below:-

* Extensive knowledge and experience of strategic content management and planning to deliver effective engaging content.
* Excellent knowledge of digital and social media skills to help deliver content to meet the agency's business objectives and enhance reputation
* Knowledge and understanding of using creative digital channels as well as experience of content management systems and evaluation to increase audience engagement.
* Excellent written, editorial, social media, engagement and oral communications skills with a strong, proven understanding of what makes engaging and accessible content
* Strong experience of management and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate individual performance and development.
* Good planning, project and time management skills, with ability to work on own initiative, meet tight deadlines, and prioritise own work according to changing business needs.
