This role is responsible for creating content and digital services that meet our various stakeholders' changing needs. You will be aware of the latest developments in digital services and how these can be used to constantly improve our service.

You will convey messages to our users across a range of relevant multimedia and social media which means you must be able to write and produce content in an engaging style. You must have a good understanding of what drives reputation and what makes a news story. Your design work must meet industry accessibility standards across a range of multimedia such as infographics or videos.

Key responsibilities:

* Scoping, commissioning, creating, editing, publishing and evaluating digital content across all channels (web, mobile, social media)
* Create content in plain English, optimised for the web, social media platforms and according to house style
* Create a digital 'content hub' from which specific tailored content can be pulled into the most relevant context, working closely with the news and content manager.
* Manage relationships with subject matter experts to make sure content is accurate
* Conduct user research to ensure content, products and services meet the needs of our users
* Design interactions, prototypes and interfaces that enhance and protect customer / user journeys
* Maximise the reach and impact of our content using social media channels
* Work closely with Department of Health digital team and the Government Digital Service to ensure digital channels and services meet current standards
* Be an advocate for the customer / user and act as a guardian for the agency's brand and digital channels
* Lead on specialist areas of digital communication (depending on experience). Provide leadership in the team and become a digital advocate for the Communications division and wider agency. Provide training and coaching for others

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the below :-

* Good knowledge and experience of creating, designing and publishing a range of multimedia digital communications products, including video production, graphics and social media content, ability to plan and proactively create effective content, and proven ability of using digital content publishing systems
* Experience in identifying ways to improve content through prototyping, wire framing and designing, and ability to influence and implement the introduction of improved digital communications services to users
* Good planning, project and time management skills, with ability to work on own initiative and in team to problem solve, and prioritise own work according to changing business needs
* Experience of evaluating digital and traditional media content and social media tools to assess performance and inform business decisions
* Good written, editorial, social media engagement and oral communications skills with a strong, proven understanding of what makes a good news story and interesting, accessible content

* Good internal and external relationship management skills, with ability to develop good working relationships with and influence social media influencers and senior managers, dealing with conflict and challenge in a calm, measured way
